School Age Summer Program
"School age" campers enjoy many age appropriate activities throughout the summer. Field Trips and
community experiences are a large portion of our
"school age" program. Trips are
once per week. Written reflections of the community field trips are recorded after each trip.
Each field trip is prearranged and parents are notified in advance via the monthly newsletters and calendars.
Field Trips may include such things as:
- nature centers,
- parks,
- theme parks,
- water parks,
- bowling,
- ball games,
- library visits,
- Little Amerika,
- pottery making,
- recycling centers,
- farms, and
- gymnastics.
On a non-trip day, a large part of the day is spent outside on our eight acres of fields, wooded areas, and playgrounds.
Organized games along with a variety of team sports are enjoyed. The children read in groups and write in
journals on a daily basis.
The
"school age" program is a healthy balance between:
- outdoor exploration,
- academic stimulation, and
- community experiences.
